Not One Alike - Senior Thesis Pt. 1
Not One Alike is a visual exploration of how differences make our human experience diverse and vibrant. Each portrait is compromised of unique parts that are only seen as a whole when the composite is viewed under equal circumstances. There are five words written by Thomas Jefferson in the Declaration of Independence that have become the most “abused, misinterpreted and dangerous words in American history.” It is quite obvious that all men are not created equal. Our current government protects our individual rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, leaving all people equally free to be as unique as we naturally are and choose to be. Progression only comes when we all embrace these differences and use them to our personal advantages. By embracing our inequalities, our world can advance and be more innovative, all while creating more opportunity. We all deserve to be equally different.
